I am very happy to know that the Manipuri film 'Boong' has scripted history at the 2026 BAFTA Awards. Against all odds, this film was crowned Best Children and Family Film, becoming the first-ever Indian production to win in this prestigious category.
My heartiest congratulations to the entire cast and crew of 'Boong'! You’ve made the whole nation proud.
Today, at Banga Bhawan in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri, I met victims of the deeply flawed SIR process, families who have lost loved ones and citizens who, despite being alive, have been falsely marked “dead” and erased from the electoral rolls. Their testimonies were heartbreaking. In a democracy, to inflict such suffering on the people, is not just tragic, it is unconscionable.
Women, senior citizens, migrant workers, daily wage earners, patients, entire lives have been thrown into chaos by this reckless and inhumane exercise. What is even more alarming is that, without any statutory authority and in violation of the Representation of the People Act, an unprecedented number of micro-observers have been deployed in Bengal to usurp the powers of EROs and AROs. Rules are being rewritten mid-process, technologies misused, and procedures weaponised, all to selectively target Bengal and its people.
The BJP has failed to win the trust of the people. It has failed politically. And so it has chosen to hijack a constitutional institution to do what it cannot achieve democratically. But their conspiracies will only strengthen our resolve. We will fight this assault on democracy with every constitutional means at our disposal. We will fight to protect every citizen’s right to vote, to defend Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution, and to uphold the sanctity of free and fair elections.
Standing up for the people, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has reached the Supreme Court.
Today will stand as an example before the entire nation and the world.

Shri Abhishek Banerjee having lunch with migrant workers who were subjected to abuse in other states.

“They assaulted me because I was speaking in Bengali… for them, I was a Bangladeshi.”
“You’re not Bengali. You’re a Bangladeshi!”
“You have relatives there—you must accept you’re Bangladeshi!”
“They kicked and beat me until I couldn’t take it anymore… and even then I kept saying, ‘Sir, I am an Indian, not Bangladeshi.’”
These painful testimonies were shared on stage by the people of BENGAL with Shri @AbhishekAITC. Their words shook us all and strengthened our resolve: these Bangla-birodhi forces of @BJP4India cannot be allowed to go scot-free. They must be answered and defeated democratically.
Jotoi Koro Hamla,

Rooted in the soil, shaped by the people this is leadership that stays close to those it serves.
After listening to migrant workers from Malda who faced harassment in other states, Shri @AbhishekAITC shared a meal with them, and promised to stand beside them in these testing times. Together we can uproot the Bangal Birodhi forces who threaten our existence.

In Malda today, Jononeta Shri @abhishekaitc met migrant worker brothers and sisters who were harassed in other states and forced to return home. He listened to their problems and shared a meal with them. Though they were humiliated elsewhere, our National General Secretary reassured them that in their own state,a place that they can call hom and that they are not alone.

In its blind pursuit of power and its attempt to subjugate Bengal, the BJP has unleashed a reign of inhuman oppression upon the people of the state, crossing limits that even authoritarian regimes hesitate to breach.
Today in Malda, I listened to the grievances, hardships, and suffering of migrant workers who were harassed and persecuted in BJP-ruled states. I assured them that our government, our party, and every soldier of the Trinamool Congress stands firmly with them, day and night. I reaffirmed our commitment that once Smt. Mamata Banerjee assumes office for a fourth term as Chief Minister, meaningful employment opportunities will be created for them here in Bengal, the sacred land of communal harmony. I also shared a meal with them.
For the convenience of migrant workers from Malda, I shared the ‘Ek Daake Abhishek’ helpline number— 78877-78877, urging them to reach out immediately should they face any difficulty, so that timely intervention can be ensured.
By branding the Bangla language as a 'Bangladeshi language,' the BJP has insulted Bengal’s identity and conspired to turn its own migrant workers into outsiders in their homeland. In 2026, the people of Bengal will respond with unwavering resolve, defending their language, dignity, and democratic rights on every inch of this land.
In Satgachia, the principle of caring is being translated into action through #Sebaashray2, where healthcare is delivered not as an entitlement granted sparingly, but as a responsibility carried seriously. The initiative reflects a governance approach that values presence, precision, and continuity, especially in moments of vulnerability.
🔬 1,297 diagnostic tests ensured early detection and timely action
💊 1,230 individuals received essential medicines at no cost
🏥 2,267 people visited our camps, each receiving guidance and support
🏥 4 patients were referred for advanced treatment
What is unfolding in Satgachia is not a one-day intervention, but a reaffirmation of the idea that public service must be sustained, humane, and accountable. Sebaashray 2 stands as a reminder that when the state places people first, trust is restored and governance regains its moral purpose.
The Election Commission was asked to bend. Instead, it is willing to crawl. Through SIR, the ECI has given form and legitimacy to BJP’s conspiracy to steal Bengal’s vote and strip people of their constitutional right.
New categories are being invented overnight to justify mass deletion of voters. Citizens who are alive, healthy, and fully accounted for are being marked as “dead.” In doing so, the Commission is questioning our right to vote, our right to belong, our right to dignity, and our right to exist without suspicion.
The intent is to muzzle Bengal’s voice. But what I witnessed in Baruipur today was a thunderous, democratic roar of defiance. Thousands spoke as one, proclaiming, “Jotoi Koro Hamla, Abar Jitbe Bangla.”
Those plotting to unmap Bengal’s people from the electoral roll will soon find themselves unmapped from Bengal’s political landscape. The countdown has begun. Wait and watch.
During a Gita recital event at Brigade Parade Ground, a chicken patties seller, earning his livelihood with dignity, was viciously beaten in broad daylight. Worse still, the assailants were later celebrated and garlanded by BJP leaders. This is a rejection of everything the Bhagavad Gita stands for.
BJP claims spiritual authority while enabling violence against the vulnerable. Their politics of coercion assumes it can dictate what people eat, what they wear, and how they sustain themselves. Since when did the landlords of Delhi acquire the mandate to police our everyday lives?
A land that produced reformers, poets, revolutionaries, and humanists will not bow to a politics that venerates the violent and vilifies the ordinary.
Jotoi Koro Hamla, #AbarJitbeBangla.
While @BJP4India remains absorbed in its conspiracies, Bengal’s most trusted leader is occupied with something far greater. Understanding people's pulse, connecting with them, and reassuring them.
The image of Shri @abhishekaitc stepping on the stage and dissolving into the swelling tide at Baruipur is powerful enough to unsettle his opponents and steal their sleep.
Walking shoulder to shoulder with ordinary citizens, he has made it clear that this land is ours, and these people are ours. No assault on their democratic rights will be tolerated. Bengal will prevail!
Jotoi Koro Hamla, #AbarJitbeBangla.
