"Jimin's fans are furious as Billboard changes its rules again after he achieved the first place"
BTS member Jimin has achieved the first place on the US Billboard chart 'Hot 100' with his song 'Like Crazy', making a new history in the Korean music industry. However, his fans are strongly opposing Billboard's rule changes.
'Like Crazy' reached the top spot of the main single chart 'Hot 100' on April 8th. This is the first and only record of a Korean solo artist to achieve the feat in the 65-year history of Billboard.
'Like Crazy' is the 66th song to debut at number one among the 1,148 songs that have ever reached the top spot. Achieving a debut week number one ranking is an extraordinary feat, with less than 6% of songs achieving this record.
Jimin sold a total of 254,000 downloads and CD singles in the first week, and recorded 10 million streams and 64,000 radio listeners. This shows how much his fan club 'ARMY' worked hard for his achievement. On the April 15th Billboard 'Hot 100' chart announced on April 11th, Jimin ranked 45th.
Jimin's fans are furious about the sudden rule change of Billboard after his ranking for 'Like Crazy' dropped. They claimed that "Billboard changed the rule of calculating the rankings abruptly after Jimin's song reached the top spot."
According to the fans, all the US Billboard prediction sites expected Jimin's 'Like Crazy' to enter the top 10 rankings this week without any problems.
The fans claimed that "only 10% of the predicted sales by prediction sites were recognized by Billboard, and the other 90% were not recognized." Since Jimin's songs were not frequently played on local radio, his fans supported him through purchasing his music. The fans made efforts to buy his music throughout the week, but the sudden rule change made their efforts futile.
Billboard only counts one purchase per email account. The fans appealed for support and encouragement for Jimin through friends, family, and various social media, but they claimed that Billboard changed the rules without prior notice.
The fans expressed frustration, saying "Billboard has changed the ranking calculation rules every time BTS reached number one" and "We cannot understand Billboard's behavior of changing the rules again after Jimin achieved first place."
Meanwhile, Jimin's 'Like Crazy' continues to create a 'Jimin craze' worldwide, topping the UK Official Download Chart for two consecutive weeks, setting the longest record for a Korean solo artist at number one.

@billboardcharts aren't you ashamed of your blatant disrespect to one of the most important singers today? Whoever is in charge of the charts should be fired.
