@ec8352139389852 @LiangRhea @BoyGeekDrone They're not only in Oz because of training bottlenecks. The quality of life, weather and pay are immeasurably better. Lots of people I know who went for F3 in Australia stayed there, it wasn't because of a training bottleneck, it's because working in the NHS is shit.

@EstherMcVey1 First of all, GPs work on average for 10-12 hours a day. I work 3 days a week in a GP surgery but also get paid pro rata. The other 2 days I work in an urgent care centre and every other Saturday in out-of-hours. Finite number of GPs already spread too thin!

@SianMelbourne @EstherMcVey1 We are already contracted for extended hours. I start at 7am one day a week- I get way more unanswered calls/ DNAs then than I do during the day. It’s proven weekend opening isn’t a good use of resource- lots of people don’t turn up for their appointments!

We have been visiting patients at home more than we did before as we recognise telephone/ video consultations aren’t appropriate for everyone.

@RCObsGyn This is because there’s a subset of gynaecologists that want to do community gynae and escape on call rotas. GPs already do all this within the contract.
