These three spent a lot of time around Quinn's little sibling, Charlie. Charlie is only a year younger than Quinn, but because of the vast difference in the expectations placed on each of them, the gap often feels much larger. They get on, but aren't especially close.

Let's talk about some of Twelvelms' characters, starting with the main trio!

Quinn, Felix and Reilly have been friends since they were 13 years old. At the story's start, they've just turned 18, and are now considered to be fully grown mages and independent from their parents.

The third of the trio is Felix. A joker on the surface, but there's a nasty edge to him if you look too closely. Felix left his family behind and moved to Castle Derwen at 13, too, but the circumstances he did so under were VERY different to Reilly's... https://t.co/Gx1rz7RxpK

Felix Scarlett grew up in one of the most secretive covens in the Alliance. He's theatrical, bombastic, and treats conversation like a comedy bit, but there's an edge to many of the things he says, like maybe he's like this because he thinks his feelings really are just a joke.

Names are incredibly important to mages. They believe that to give a thing a name, you bestow and limit its power. As such, all mages name themselves and go by only petnames until their 13th Summer Solstice.

You can immortalise your name in the Book of Mages in our crowdfunder!

Mages can change officially their name at any Summer Solstice ceremony by declaring it and making a small offering to the All and the Earth, but you can just send me and email to let me know.
