We recently got featured by Village Capital, and honestly, it feels like a moment to pause and reflect on why we do what we do.
At Twende Green, plastic waste is not just waste to us, itโs a material with a second life.
This week, we were part of OCEAN INNOVATION AFRICA 2026 in Durban, South Africa; it is now clear: innovation must be inclusive, local, and scalable.
We return more committed than ever to our mission, turning plastic waste into opportunity while protecting our oceans.
๐ LETโS CONNECT!
Weโll be attending Ocean Innovation Africa 2026 in Durban, South Africa (23โ25 March) and would love to meet fellow innovators, partners, and changemakers shaping the future of the blue economy.
Today, on International Womenโs Day, we celebrate the incredible women who are leading change in our communities, protecting our oceans, and championing sustainability. From waste pickers and environmental champions to innovators and young.
Twende Green, together with our partners, invites Ocean Guardians, Environmental Champions, Climate Advocates, Community Volunteers, Youth Leaders, Sustainability Enthusiasts, Divers, Surfers, Students, and all lovers of our oceans to come together for a meaningful Beach Cleanup
The exchange of ideas, questions, and global perspectives made the conversation even more meaningful.
Grateful for the platform and for the growing network of young leaders committed to protecting our ocean while building opportunity. ๐โป๏ธ
Our cofounder Lawrence Kosgei today had the privilege of sharing the story of Twende Green Ecocycle at the Technical University of Mombasa during the visit by students from Semester At Sea / ISE.
From beach clean-ups to transforming marine plastic into furniture such as school furniture now serving hundreds of learners, it was a powerful moment to show how sustainability and the blue economy can create real impact at community level.
We are proud to share that Twende Green Ecocycle has been featured among the 100 Innovators Shaping Africaโs Blue Economy by Katapult Ocean, Briter, and AgBase.
From combating ocean pollution along Kenyaโs coast in 2025 to driving innovative, community-led sustainability solutions across the country in 2026.
This journey reflects a deep commitment to environmental stewardship, social impact, and inclusive development.
A huge thank you to all our incredible partners who showed up with energy, heart, and unwavering commitment. Your support made this cleanup not just successful, but truly meaningful.
