Pro Ref chief refereeing officer Howard Webb says VAR Matt Donohue suffered from “tunnel vision” when allowing Erling Haaland’s goal to stand in Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday.

“He gets focused on Haaland, and it’s down to the rest of his team to pull him out of that tunnel, and unfortunately, that didn’t happen on this occasion.”

Of course on-field officials are fallible.

But errors are so much harder to accept from those in the VAR suite.

To spend two-and-a-half minutes studying Erling Haaland's Manchester derby winner so forensically, and then to incorrectly overturn the on-field decision, is embarrassing and alarming for the Premier League.

Same for Chelsea who spent thier previous owners £1b+ of cash which was written off never to be paid back, using illegal funds, loaned to the club. But its ok people they have new owners now, and yet more charges that never seem to get resolved by the authorities
