It’s striking how much shorter the tenures for Canadian Supreme Court Justices are compared to the United States.
I’ve been alive for the appointment of 29 CSC justices , versus 14 USSC justices.
Of those 29 only one died(unexpectedly) in harness compared to two.

Raccoon dogs is a needlessly confusing term since they’re not raccoons or dog. We should call them tanuki which elides that problem, is a snappy word, and already has some penetration (thanks Nintendo!) in English.
