Sports Fan and Racehorse Owner - follows Football, Racing, Cricket & Rugby League. Fan of Southampton FC and Burton Albion FC. Many aspire but few are chosen!!!
@Ed__Dawes Hi Ed, Trust you are well - as a Saints fan (since the day they captivated me that sunny day in 1976) I'm in no doubt. I'd much rather win the Cup than get promoted. Wasn't it fantastic v Arsenal? The passion of the fans said it all. Would have preferred to avoid Man City in s/f!
@rslater17@TAGSportswear A massive let-down. Puma, adidas, Nike, Umbro ... even Castore and Macron - but Admiral? Responsible for some of the worst England kits in living memory. TAG looked after Albion for many years, and they deserved better.
@bbc5live Nicky, I love my football - but it was back last week and the biggest game on the planet for some of us is tomorrow ... the A38 derby between mighty Burton Albion and Derby County. Nationally League One hardly gets a look-in, but to the 5000+ there tomorrow it is our Classico.
@burtonalbionfc I was the Radio Derby commentator that night. I was with Ross Fletcher, who now lives and works in Seattle, USA. We had something of a makeshift studio - standing on the steps outside the Social Club at one end. We relied on a kind lady who let us use a power point to broadcast!
@HuntyCaller@5liveSport A brilliant broadcaster who provides a wonderful service every Saturday afternoon. Had the pleasure of tuning in whilst watching the mighty Burton Albion beat Sheff Wed yesterday.
@bbc5live@NickyAACampbell@BBCSounds Someone who scores goals for Southampton FC. I give you Ted McDougall, Mick Channon, Phil Boyer and Rickie Lambert.
@AndyhHolt Welcome back Mr Holt - from a Burton fan. Both Albion and Accrington are model clubs in the way they are run and managed. Long may it continue!!!
@Ed__Dawes I remember Sportsweek magazine. Really good with excellent photography. A touch expensive and one of Mr Maxwell's publications. Shame there doesnt appear to be a mag like that these days.
@TheSaintCentre We are not a Premier League team in reality. Too many overpaid players who don't care enough, a managerial shambles this season, and most importantly of all, the support base is thoroughly dis-enchanted by the situation.
@chamberlinsport @HorseRacing_Lad As a Southampton supporter, I enjoyed the "red hat with the white spots". We've not had much to cheer lately ... so much appreciated. The ITV coverage is wonderful - those who follow racing know and value it.
@dailyechosaints Can't blame the bloke for taking the job - a great opportunity he could not turn down - BUT a poor, poor appointment by the club. I've followed Saints for over 40 years, through thick and thin - all I ask is for an honest, hard-working team that entertains. Relegation certs.
