Sven-Goran Eriksson has delivered a final goodbye message and how he wants to be remembered.
“I had a good life. I think we are all scared of the day when we die, but life is about death as well. You have to learn to accept it for what it is. Hopefully at the end people will say, yeah, he was a good man, but everyone will not say that.
I hope you will remember me as a positive guy trying to do everything he could do. Don’t be sorry, smile. Thank you for everything, coaches, players, the crowds, it’s been fantastic.
Take care of yourself and take care of your life. And live it. Bye.”
What a man! ❤️
So close and yet so, so far.
The Ramble started in 2007 and England (and Steve McClaren) didn’t even qualify in 2008.
In 2010, we were all bored to tears and the players were locked in Fabio Capello’s prison.
In 2012, we never had a hope in hell against Italy.
In 2014, the best moment of the tournament was Raheem Sterling putting it in the side netting.
In 2016, well… they were all just headphones.
In 2018, we got further than we thought and won an actual penalty shootout.
In 2021, Southgate was outmanoeuvred and we should’ve won.
In 2022, we played *some* brilliant attacking football, but France were too good.
In 2024, we were bad, then even worse - but, BUT we got to another final. And we at least had some great memories along the way.
England. Fuck you. But also, thank you.
I sincerely hope Aston Villa break through the glass ceiling and permanently destroy the dominance of the so called “Big 6” teams, preferably at Liverpool’s expense.
The 14 other so called “smaller teams” should be fully behind Villa this season.
@justdeenow I am English. I have moaned. I have lived it. I will take it. Whatever the result come Sunday evening I will move forward with it. Hate is easier than love and I wish you and your flag bill all the best.
@Peety_Editor@AdamCatterall@footballontnt Playing the pied piper as usual. It’s easy to take the piss out of things we don’t like, see Klopps
Poor end to the season as reference.
