At the airport counter, flight was rebooked and $24 meal voucher was provided but no hotel or transportation was provided for a flight delayed overnight for 13+hrs. Sharing a warning to others.

@AmericanAir pretty disappointed in the lack of quality customer support on a flight delayed by 13hrs due to a controllable reason (mechanical issues). DOT outlines that AA is responsible to rebook flight, provide meal vouchers, hotel and transportation (cont..)

@AmericanAir Super frustrating since the reason for the flight cancellation (mechanical issues, as communicated by the pilot) is controllable by American Airlines yet the team at the counter were dodgy and gaslighting about the reason and not offering any support.

@AmericanAir my husband’s international flight was cancelled just now at JFK due to mechanical issues, a controllable event, and was rebooked for tomorrow 12hrs later. He was only offered two meal vouchers for this and nothing for accommodations or transportation.
