@mide_tkh Francine Rivers and Karen Kingsbury have carried me through timesssssss, especially this particular book. This just brings back so much memories.
As if these are not enough, books are a reminder of things that are slowly being forgotten. Kindness, selflessness, love. The original concept of love; not seeking, yet always giving.
Books remind me to be conscious of the many beautiful things around me. The smell of flowers, the sky, fragrances, a person's smile and the ways their eyes light up. These seemingly normal things that can become so much more; unforgettable.
If you want to get into romance novels, these are a few I think you should start with.
1. Faceless by Amma Darko
2. Stay with me by Ayobami Adebayo
3. Adanna by Adesuwa Oโman
4. The Middle Daughter by Chika Unigwe
5. A Thousand Splendid Suns
6. Tomorrow I Become a Woman
Reading, to me, is like a practice of faith. I pick up a book and I'm hopeful that a chapter, a paragraph, a sentence, or even a line, has the ability to speak to my heart and change something.
โ What is the worst thing that happened to you today? A part of me died.
And the best? A part of me died.โ
How do I explain to a non-reader the weight of these words???
This!!! This right here, is why I read books.
