North and South Wales are separated by mountainous terrain. This is why Wales naturally looks from west to east. It’s also the reason Wales is not a natural administrative unit. This explains why the Senedd does not work.

Exactly, what we have here is a linguistic oligarchy. Where language is used instead of class or wealth. It’s used as a gatekeeper marginalising non Welsh speakers who may be more competent getting a position. Those who do not speak Cymraeg are viewed as uneducated and systematically blocked from upward social mobility.
This is common in Welsh Medja , local government and the Senedd. Basically it’s jobs for the boys.
The Senedd should be flying an equal number of Union Jacks and Welsh flags. 🇬🇧🏴🇬🇧🏴
We have a pro-unionist majority in the Senedd. The flags outside should reflect that.
