Seeing @moonshotbytc’s theme for this year’s edition “Courage & Conviction” made me reflect deeply on the most courageous decision I’ve ever made. 

I spent the last 3 years freelancing by making social media filters for events. Along the line, I started to see its future in augmented reality and the relevance it would have in the e-commerce sector in the coming years.

For a long time, I felt building solo out of vibes felt comfortable but later, I realized that individual freelancing doesn't scale to enterprise levels. 

After having the thought of it for weeks, I knew and was convinced that it was time to upscale but I nearly talked myself out of it because of how “big” the dream looked from the thought of it, to trying to understand how everything will work out.

I started learning, making research on how augmented reality works and eventually settled to build what will solve a commerce solution.

The following week, we swung into action out of courage by making necessary registrations, acquiring a domain and putting things in place before launching.

We eventually took a bolder step to launch @twntyfourlabs to engineer high-fidelity, web-native AR product testing and immersive commerce solutions. 

I am still figuring things out on the way, but one thing I have learned in two months post launch is that: stepping out of the solo box to start something big takes serious grit, and I’m super grateful to God that I started anyway.

Now I want to hear how other people make these calls and also see from the perspective of major key players in the tech ecosystem. These are a few of my many reasons why I will be attending this year’s edition of @moonshotbytc for the very first time.
