a lot of homophobia is violent but there's a quieter kind that's just as damaging. it's the kind that says, "not every movie needs gay people in it" the kind that says they're okay with gay people "despite their sin" the kind that gets uncomfortable when queer people simply exist etc... it gets inside your head, it tells you you're wrong, it teaches you to hate yourself sneaks up behind you and makes you wear a mask
My elderly aunt once referred to me as a “half dagger” casually in conversation to someone on the phone bc she couldn’t remember the term “bisexual” & on the precipice of each pride month i think abt this. “yeah you ain’t know Jas is a uh….uh…half dagger. Yeah only sometimes”
I really loved the theme of loneliness in I Love Boosters being a result of unbearable capitalism…the way it stifles true creativity…how community is found in unity around common goals…felt that deep in my soul
christie's skyscraper being slanted, probably bc she, in her vapidity, intends it to land like she's artistically off-kilter or idiosyncratic... when really she just crooked as hell fr #iloveboosters
I saw Is God Is & I Love Boosters in theaters this week & as long as we have film makers willing to take the risk & be outrageous, we’re gonna be alright bc that’s what we wanna see. Be over the top! Make us laugh, make us reflect & even get a lil teary eyed.. We can take it!
