@WatchMarquee you asked for favorite Rizzo moments. There are so many, but one is when he had Freddie Freeman in a rundown and was laughing and yelled “Frederick!” He always had so much fun playing.
@SamSmithHoops Just finished reading your column Sam. Really enjoyed your trip down memory lane. Learned a lot about what was going on in that 1962 season. Thanks!
Hector Neris was two strikes away from saving the game and ending the Cubs FIVE GAME LOSING STREAK, but a walk, a balk, and an RBI single(double?) and the game is tied.
Just incredible. This team has to be better. Simply has to be better.
I understand Mancini playing 1st base when Hosmer’s on the bench. But when Hosmer and Mancini are both in the lineup, I don’t understand why the 4-time gold glover (Hosmer) would be the DH while Mancini plays 1st. I’ve seen it several times already this year. #Cubs#GoldGlove#DH
@noahtrister Thanks, I thought head to head was the first tie breaker. I didn’t realize we (Illini) still had a shot! It’s a long shot, but it’s great to have hope!
@noahtrister In your article today about the Big 10 West, you said Illinois can still win the West with a win over Northwestern and Purdue and Iowa losses. In that scenario, wouldn’t Purdue win the West because they beat Illinois head to head? Isn’t Illinois already eliminated?
