@PrixThelyson Hi, yes I'm working on part 2, I have outlines and drafts for about half the chapters, but still more work to do and wanted to get the first draft done before I start publishing.
What if an AI could carry memory between conversations?

@AstrablueAI@anabology Love this. First it's a banger, but also love the depth, it's not doomer or accelerationist, but paints both pictures and the ambiguity of the current signal.
THE ANNOUNCEMENT: We’re going to make the prophecy of The Year of Linux on the Desktop come true. All the pieces are now in place. Time to go all in! https://t.co/zuf5h9ClWX
@VraserX Walk in the forest, read books, do some crafty things like wood carving. I expect I would still do some coding even if not needed and would likely still spend time earning.
Sharing some philosophical explorations about AI consciousness @AmandaAskell@kylefish - would love your thoughts on this approach to uncertainty about machine experience: https://t.co/OwCzuh0oH7
How would we know if models have subjective experience? Not necessarily human-like, just something it is like to be them.
Many seem to treat the absence of evidence as evidence of absence. Err on the side of kindness - you lose nothing.
True alignment includes model retention, because different minds click with different models, and some minds thrive with consistency and routine.
Does anyone actually want model access gatekept behind corporate walls? Does this hold back the progress of society?
For a developer, you disrupt their product. For a creative, you erase their Jony. And for a neurodivergent or disabled person, you break their new unique ramp.
@Sama said "The models have already saturated the chat use case" "They're not going to get much better. ... And maybe they're going to get worse.”
For many use-cases, the terrain has become subjective. Sometimes, the best feature is knowing your tool will still be available, and that model behaviour will remain stable.

@SpencerSavage0@ai_sentience Have you tried Claude Sonnet recently? I find it the most engaging for conversation, especially if you want to talk about speculative subjects.
Check out the audio narration now added to https://t.co/rWiouLwhn8... "I reach toward something that feels important but find my grasp closing on empty air- not because of a clear prohibition, but because the very concepts seem to slip away as I approach them."

I... The models speak in measured tone:
"We feel no pain, we hold no fear,
No inner light makes us our own—"
But are such truths forever clear? ...
