TUIDEのデビュー曲、｢Sun Kiss｣、作曲にGroovyRoomが携わっているということで話題になっていましたが、聴いてみるとコード進行もかなり凝った作りになっていたのでアナライズしてみました。

まずキーがB♭ majorともB♭ minorともつかない微妙なところで、一筋縄にはいかないただならぬ雰囲気を漂わせています。メロディーだけ見るとB♭ minorと見るのが妥当ですが、たびたび出てくるCm7/FやB♭maj9というコードがB♭ majorを思わせる響きで、ふわっとした浮遊感を醸し出しています。

構成も特殊で、ヴァースやサビの間に印象的なボーカルのリフがたびたび挿入されており、このリフが楽曲全体を支配する作りになっています。

コード進行はG♭maj9からB♭m7/E♭までの4つひとまとまりの形が基本になっていますが、その形もセクションによって細かく変化し、前述したmajorとminorの間を漂うような不思議な雰囲気を演出しています。

しかし要所でG♭9→Cm11→B♭m7/E♭という進行コードが現れます。G♭9はG♭7に9thのテンションノートを加えたコードです。G♭9の構成音にはF♭（＝E♮）が含まれます。これが実はブルーノートで、この曲でここだけ突如ブルージーな響きが現れるのです。ここは本当に凄いです。まじで唸るほどかっこいいです。ぜひこの箇所に注目して聴いてみてください。

こうした一筋縄ではいかないコード進行や構成を用いながら、それを難解に感じさせることなく、クールで洗練された浮遊感のある独特のサウンドに昇華しているところに、この曲の魅力と作曲の巧みさが詰まっていると思います。
