@uncledoomer You’re only noticing the whiners. Most cyclists I know are tough as nails and will ride covered in blood, with a broken femur , concussion. I’ve had collisions and been run over , never even filed a report. Cyclists are mostly inconspicuous . Confirmation bias
@Hispeedlowdrug Cycling is more libertarian than the 2A movement. Putting your life on the line. Exercising the freedom to roam. Resisting petty despots (vehicle tabs, road restrictions) . 2A begs for permission to install an accessory, to display it on a shelf.
@xwanyex It also stifles a lot of creativity and innovation to constantly be reporting to people and being prepared to answer for what you are doing, it’s progress, it’s reasoning at every second. Unfortunately the authorities have no appreciation for the means, only the ends.
@duncancampbell@NolanChurch Experience is anecdotes. “Prove it” biases in favor of Newsweek , WSJ . Our history is composed of anecdotes, many written centuries after the occasion – sometimes just a few anecdotes remain. Even “research” or “data” are recycled & curated anecdotes . Sociological laundry
@ClimbingCoachX Not to mention bringing food , batteries , knives , utensils , sporting equipment , large bottles of water , a stove , camp furniture . Much more luxury on the road . Privacy, comfort , hygiene , nearly everything is better about road trips
@GuruAnaerobic MT still has many performance and aesthetic benefits , more so than kickstart. Especially on low power vehicles. Makes a fun car out of a snoozer
