a year ago today, seunghan’s solo debut was announced. he held his first live on instagram, introduced his new stage name, his own artist brand, along with first-ever member of xoul.

“hello, i’m seunghan.
first of all, i saw the article that came out today.
i’d been talking with the staff about when would be a good time to greet everyone through a live and we were waiting for the right timing. when i saw the article come out today, i felt like today’s the right moment so i decided to come and greet you all like this.

the first thing i want to say is 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒌 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒔𝒐 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒘𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆.

it’s been really a long time since i’ve let you hear my voice. i’ve been working hard on my own, preparing and taking lessons.”

“while preparing for the album i found myself thinking a lot about how could i style or change my stage name. i thought and worried about it a lot and discussed it with many people, then i realized i wanted something simple but also eye-catching and cool at first glance. so i kept thinking ‘what should i do?’

my name in english is writren as S-E-U-N-G-H-A-N right? but i thought if i change the S to X it might stand out more and give off a fresh and new feeling.

and another thing i wanted to share is i now have friends who will be joining me, yul and kyohong. i will be working together with them.

while thinking of them, i thought it would be nice if we have a name that will give us team-like feeling and kept wondering ‘what should it be?’ and after thinking it over, something came to my mind. i wanted to include the word ‘soul’. the word itself has meanings like sharing emotions, connecting deeply and feeling each other’s soul. with that in mind, i changed the S in ‘soul’ to X so that it has something in common with my name, and that's how we came up with the name XngHan&Xoul.”
