Does Trump understand anything about the state of the economy?

He's been bitching for years about Powell and Warsh recently and insisting the Fed lower rates. However, it's very difficult for the Fed to lower rates when inflation is higher. Saying you want to give a $5,000 dividend to every adult is catastrophic. It's considered a stimulus. A stimulus triggers inflation and will raise an already record amount of debt. And by doing so, it makes it extremely hard for the fed to lower rates. Think Mr. Trump. Think. I'm assuming you have smarter experts in your administration than little ole me here.

BREAKING: President Trump says he will issue a $5,000 "dividend" to every adult citizen in the US if the Republicans win the midterm elections.

There are currently ~245 million US citizens age 18+, meaning this dividend would cost ~$1.2 trillion.
