In 2017, Texas shipped $7.2 billion in domestic agricultural exports abroad. The top exports were cotton, other plant prouducts, beef and veal, dairy products, and feed. Texas agriculture provides food and fiber for millions in our state, nation, and world! ๐ค ๐

Here's an update on the progress of the federal farm bill! Congress passed an extension to the 2018 farm bill, providing continuity of support for farmers while allowing Congress more time to craft an updated bill that addresses today's challenges. ๐พ๐
In Texas, farming and ranching is a family affair. Each year, the TDA Family Land and Heritage Program recognizes those families who've sustained agricultural traditions for over a century. Texas is home to more than 5,000 of these farms and ranches!
