@GiUknit Hire help. Ask MD of patient to write order for in-home care. In the US, if MD writes peer, and patient is receiving Social Security, that should pay a large percentage of care. If patient is not receiving Social Security, apply for Social Security Disability.

@GiUknit @nevermore_007 People used to tell me my Mom was lucky to have me doing all I did for her. I’d tell them yes, Mom benefits from what I do. But the truth is, I don’t do it for her. I do it for me so I can sleep nights when she’s gone. Actually, I sleep just fine now. (She died 4 yrs ago.)

@GiUknit @ZaniniPamela@TheReelRandom I took care of my elderly Mom the last 10 years of her life. She was a widow and had Alzheimer’s disease. I also worked full-time. You might want to check if your parents are eligible for Social Security disability (if one or both is ill). That might pay for care helpers.
