@TracesofTexas My father used a manual typewriter as physical therapy to help him recover the use of his fingers & hands following a stroke in the mid 80's. I have many typewritten letters from him from those days and beyond! He used it until he got his 1st computer.

@HEB I wish there was access to the garden center from inside the store like at Home Depot. I always access the store from the north end, so I never even think to check out the garden center while I'm there. I have a half-full cart by the time it crosses my mind. Saves me $, I guess.

Traces of Texas reader Romany Norris thoughtfully shared this circa 1911 photo of the Delavan family in front of their farmhouse in Llano, Texas. This is a great photo of these folks. Per what's written on the back, they are:

Directions to the property were given to Romany many years ago by his father, whose mother was Olga Bernice. He was raised in that farmhouse. This is how to get there:

"From the town of Llano, it's real simple. You go south on Hwy 16 approximately three miles until you come to the first bridge, which is over Oatman Creek. On the south side of the bridge, on your right, is where the Delavan place began. About 300 yards south of the bridge and 75 yards off the road on your right is where the old farmhouse used to be, but it was razed years ago."

@BrianEntin Yeah, welcome to Tucson! We lived in the NW sector of the Tucson metro area for just over 3 years and had coyotes all around us. Eerie and hair-raising when a pack would be howling right behind our house.
