Nearly 40,000 K-12 students have tested positive for COVID-19 since the winter break #txlege
~FORTY. THOUSAND. TEXAS. STUDENTS.
~TWENTY. THOUSAND. TEXAS. EDUCATORS.
Where are the crosstabs?
Where is the outcomes data?
Is TEA collecting this data?
Not a single state publishes demographic cross-tabs for K-12 COVID-19 cases.
For ex: #Texas reporting > 37,000 STUDENT CASES since returning from winter break (4wks).
Is there disproportionate racial/ethnic impact? Students with Disabilities? Language Learners?
No idea.

@GeneforTexas Poverty may go some distance in explaining the the identification of #GT students. Perhaps a more important disparity between the #Houston districts is the #SPED student to SPED Certificated Teacher Ratios. 137 @ 26:1. 134 @ 6:1. #txed#txlege
Where #TXHD134 @SarahforHD134 & #TXHD137@GeneforTexas differ in these few miles are in identified #GT students. 4.5% of students were identified #gifted in 137's schools. In 134, 29% of students (the greatest share in the state) are identified GT. Statewide stat is 7.8%. #txlege
