Igbo Man: "Lagos Was Sold to Us, We Developed It – Without Igbos, Lagos Is Nothing, Nothing Yoruba Can Do"
A video has surfaced showing an Igbo man making a bold and provocative claim that the Yoruba did not develop Lagos and that the city was sold to Igbos, who then developed it. "Without Igbos in Lagos, Lagos is nothing," he declared, adding that there is nothing the Yoruba can do about it.
Because Yoruba hate brings you engagement is why Tobe will confidently go on a podcast and say thrash about a whole tribe.
This is provocative and similar to a white man going about talking about n!gg@s.
Citing Samuel Ajayi-Crowther even flags the silly guys point.
Thanks @yorubachic
@real_fola Nigerians are fragile emotional beings,
They love praises but hate feedback .
Most of the People crying on the TL have never employed anyone in their life .
Tosin Eniolorunda and his co-Founder are Nigerian trained. All of the day one guys at Moniepoint are Nigerians and most of them are still with the company and doing very well.
Moniepoint employ, in total, almost 30,000 Nigerians. They are a top employer in NIGERIA 🇳🇬. They pay a minimum of 75% percentile of the market. Junior Developers earn N1M monthly. Most earn N3M and some earn N4M monthly. They have people who earn around N10M monthly!
Moniepoint remains one of the highest transacting companies in AFRICA. They are a world-class company. And if Moniepoint did not exist, Nigeria would have gone to CHINA, completely.
Tosin must have spoken from a place of deep passion and pain because human capital in Nigeria is low. I have tweeted about this several times as well. Yes, we have good talent, but when you look at the larger population of the country, we have so much work to do. This is a FACT!
By the way, Moniepoint has paid some employees a million dollar in stock options (IN CASH). And there are at least 15-20 people who work with Moniepoint in Nigeria who are dollar millionaires!
So, to say they underpay or they take advantage of cheap labour is redundant and lazy talk.
Again, criticisms should be fair and balanced. But Business Leaders should never shy away from shedding light on challenges across the country.
PS: MONIEPOINT HAS PRODUCED A GEN Z A BILLIONAIRE!! JULIAN DUMEBI DURU IS ALIVE AND WELL, AND HAS TOLD HIS STORY. He was a Product Manager, then a Software Architect, before the final promotion to Principal Engineer all at Moniepoint 👏🏽👏🏽.
Post Apocalyptic scenes from South Africa as Zulu Fighting Age Males, armed with Pre-Colonial era weapons, turn up in huge numbers to hunt down African Immigrants.
Right message, wrong messenger.
We have nothing to learn about economic ideology from a guy whose idea of a "community empowerment project" was to distribute transistor radios to his constituents.
Let someone else speak for us please.
Most of his cars are Bebex. You’d need to sell the whole haul. This is why I’m not buying this ADC nonsense. They’re all just rebranded criminals with brand new tribal marks. The old mark is still very much visible.
Yes, Yoruba believes that when someone does something good to you, you should show appreciation by thanking him, by doing this, it will make the person want to do more if he or she has the capacity to do it, two Yoruba proverbs come to my mind.
Yin ni yin ni k'ẹni semi
Ẹni tí aba se l'ore ti ọ ba dupẹ a dàbí olosa kọni lẹru lọ ni.
Yoruba's know the power in appreciating kind gesture
"The Federal Government of Nigeria doesn’t want me to contest in the 2027 presidential election. Everything they are doing is about me. They have all the governors, ministers, contacts, and even know the King and Queen, but I don’t know why they are still afraid. Nobody wanting to run for president in 2027 is more qualified than I am. On this journey, I’ve seen everything, but it doesn’t affect me. Ask about my tenure as governor, I dealt with insecurity effectively."
-Mr. Peter Obi, speaking at the interactive session of the Obidient Movement in Enugu State
I’m in London with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and we are already making real progress — advancing a major partnership with Coventry University to bring UK degrees to Nigeria.
This is personal.
For too long, families have had to send their children thousands of miles away in search of quality education. We are changing that.
With Coventry University Nigeria, our students will be able to earn fully accredited UK degrees — at significantly lower cost — without leaving the country.
As I’ve said, we want Nigerian parents to enjoy having their children at home, while still receiving a world-class UK education.
The proposed campus in Alaro City, Lagos will offer Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes across STEMM, Business, and TVET, with admissions expected between Q3 and Q4 of 2026 (subject to approvals).
Beyond access, this is about building Nigeria’s human capital — developing the skills, talent, and workforce needed to drive innovation, productivity, and long-term national growth.
We are bringing global opportunity home — where it belongs.

Yes we didn’t kill twins but human sacrifice was also rife. We were no better. One of the perks Christianity brought. Helped with the deprecation of those stupid practices.
This is why I dislike people generalizing African culture. What do you mean that we kill twins? In Yorùbá land, we don’t kill twins; twins are regarded as Ọ̀rìṣà.
I see nothing wrong with what she said. Infact I think she’s trying to point out that before the gentrification of Lagos island, she been knowing Lagos island well. The hotel I usually stay at in VI is called Maroko Bayshore. So I get her angle.
Honestly. I don’t get it. The mere fact of their footage alone will probably put off the bandits. You can’t satisfy Nigerians. Do. Nothing they moan. Do something they still moan.
But why are some people pained by the footages of the revitalized Enugu State Forest Guard? 😁
For context, Governor Mbah has eqůipped these operatives with rapid-firing ĂĶ-47 rịflës, a world apart from the old Dąne günš they once carried, retrained them under the supervision of the Office of the National Security Adviser, and almost tripled their salaries.
And some people are pained!
BREAKING NEWS: A Coca-Cola truck fell in Enugu-Onitsha expressway, and travelers expected the Igbos in the area to help the driver. However, they were surprised to see their Igbo people robbing the trailer and some were selling the content they had stolen
