America’s cattle herd is at a 75-year low. Beef prices are near record highs. Family farms are disappearing, while a flesh-eating screwworm threat, tick-borne red-meat allergies, and alarming findings in cattle are putting even more pressure on the food supply.

President Trump says the U.S. will import more Argentine beef to lower prices. But as American ranchers try to rebuild, nearly 30,000 pounds of imported Argentine beef were just recalled in Florida and Texas after entering the country without the required U.S. import reinspection.

The screwworm crisis has restricted Mexican cattle imports, tightening supply at the worst possible moment. Meanwhile, the CDC estimates up to 450,000 Americans may have alpha-gal syndrome, a serious tick-borne allergy that can make red meat dangerous to eat.

Researchers have now examined more than 20,000 finished cattle from 33 feedlots and found lactation in nearly 20% of dairy-cross steers and roughly 15% of native steers. These castrated male cattle were producing milk containing fat, protein, and lactose. The study did not identify a cause, though researchers pointed to excess body fat and estrogen as one possible factor. Others are asking whether hormonal growth implants could be involved.

America has the smallest cattle herd in generations, soaring beef prices, a parasite threat at the southern border, and a growing red-meat allergy problem. Washington’s solution is more foreign beef, even as American ranchers and American cattle disappear.

More than 5,000 little penguins in Victoria, Australia, are reportedly about to become part of what officials describe as the largest wildlife vaccination project ever undertaken.

And there's one detail that should immediately make people stop and ask questions:

The report says there have been NO reported cases of bird flu among the penguins.

Yet thousands are to be captured and handled.

Each bird will require TWO vaccine doses within two weeks.

So surely questions are legitimate.

What safety data exists specifically for these penguins?
