i was working in the studio one evening, when Fola’s manager called me. He asked me if the sample could fit into the intro of song we had earlier recorded, seeing that it’s a popular sound, and it also fits into the story of the song.

producing the three records (gokada, eko and cruise control) on Catharsis was a creative journey on its own, and I’m glad the project has been so well received. I’m glad to want to unpack the emotions that spark each beat and the sessions that brought them to life.

tbh, it clicked immediately with the vision and direction of the record…

no there wasn’t any influence…
infact the vocal sample was gotten from Splice and then after we recorded the song, Fola posted a snippet of the song the next day and it went viral on TikTok.

after that time, I tried to Shazam the sound and then that was when I discovered there was a song by Jeriq (massive shoutout to the producer of the record) that had the same vocal sample, but Cruise control had gone viral at the time.
