@KurtisHanni@MatScouts1 My thought as well, I think it was only ever taught in my Oklahoma History class and you get a short reference to it in Grapes of Wrath. I think it’s lost most connotation and just sounds a bit bad compared to others like OK state in my opinion
@KurtisHanni@MatScouts1 Personally don’t care other than it sounding bad, but the term Okie was used as a derogatory term for people fleeing the Dust Bowl. Seems like most have forgotten that, I’d guess it was only ever taught in Oklahoma classrooms.
@hoosierhiptoss@SpeakIven It definitely varies person to person, but Okie was a derivative term for people who were fleeing Oklahoma during the Dust Bowl. Doesn’t quite have the connotation it used to but still can be a sore spot for some.
@steakisgood2@osuzack Late in the BYU-OSU game last night, the crowd was chanting something regarding BYU - the disagreement is if it was F* the Mormons or Refs are Mormons… given that the crowd thought the refs missed a couple foul calls in a row I’d lean toward the latter.
Dear shirtless guys,
I love this so much. The @OSUWBB Cowgirls would love to have this energy at our games this season. In fact, if you come we will give you a shirt (wearing it is optional). Mad respect for you…Loyal and True 🫡
@FeelsLike45Pod@ruminaghabozorg Oh not at all, I understood your point! I was just thinking of the additional responsibilities he’s taking on and how much time they take out of his normal work days.
@AceWDE Similar thing happened with one of the Baker Mayfield years when he played in Stillwater - first play of the game the OU RB I believe fumbled a pass he caught, scoop and score for OSU. It got called back as incomplete.
