unless you were actually at Addison Rae, I genuinely don’t want to hear your opinion.
that girl is a star in the making. not in a theoretical way, not in a “give it a few years” way. right now. fully forming in real time. she put on the kind of performance that doesn’t translate through clips, or discourse, or whatever thinkpiece is about to drop. you had to be there. you had to feel it.
I know it sounds silly, but she got me through this past year. and I found myself sitting in the back, fully sobbing, watching her just be… a girl. being artsy. being camp. being too much in the exact way women have always been punished for.
and I kept thinking about Britney Spears. about how her and so many of her peers were vilified for that same softness, that same theatricality, that same desire to be seen trying.
and now we’re watching it happen again, but differently.
we’re watching a girl blossom instead of break.
and there was something about that… that felt bigger than just a set. it felt like a shift. like permission.
anyway. best believe this is getting a full follow-up on substack.
“It was long. Traffic filled. I mean Burbank dude! [Q: Did you parallel park the carriage already?] No I parked like a crazy person. I blocked everyone in, sorry about that.” - Harry on getting to set for Royal Court with Brittany Broski
