Zooheads Step 4: The final print we all voted on was a soap dish for the bathroom. As you can see, there are layers in the print that are off and oversized, this was due to the issue of not knowing what diameter or tolerance the filament was during extrusion.

Zooheads Step 3: Printing our test print was simple as this material was PLA based, so we did not have to change any settings. The print came out well. We used a .75mm nozzle size, however a smaller nozzle size, as we know, would have helped with print resolution.

This week we are testing Zooheads!

(no animals were harmed in this experiment)

Step1: All of the prints were very clean- The grinding process is the first step in recycling, breaking down the failed prints so that the extruder can use the shaving to make the filament.

Zooheads Step 2: The ground-up Zooheads are fed into the extruder. The Zooheads are made from PLA. The EX2 has one temperature zone and it was set to 165°C. The one thing we want to note is that our diameter measurement was down the day we ran this filament.
