@SamBuntz I don't know why people presume his stupidity. He's completely right, America is most susceptible to its corporate products. Old Time American music like shape note singing, claw hammer banjo folk music and the like still exist, but are extremely sub-cultural mostly on YouTube.
@grime_square because the argument doesn't make sense. They're deciding to lose money by keeping the apartment empty? they're losing money either way, just not in a socially beneficial way. You can't force someone to do business.
If you oppose DEI consider the following:
Student 1's GPA is 3.9 but has rich parents, world class schooling & tutors
Student 2's GPA is 3.8 but is poor & his neighborhood is filled w/ crime & bad schools
Should 2's circumstances at least be considered in admission decisions?
Rightoids reposting this video lamenting how “le ebil socialism” destroyed France, when it was originally posted with the caption:
“France when government spending was 30% of GDP”
@steady_drumbeat thats how the first romantics emerged. Also nationalism. I like the heroic v industrial framing, I believe thats appropriated from antarctic exploration.
@ofreacharound Good, cool hobbies emphasize one's attachment to life, and spiritual vitality. Consuming Media is less interesting than sports, which is less interesting than sports in nature. Consuming media extensively can create the impression of a cowardly life.
@sharghzadeh if they sincerely believed in the moral value of human life AND this absurd blasphemy punishment, they would have a grim attitude toward this affair. Instead they cheer for the murder of a menial laborer who got upset at animal abuse.
@xwanyex The ugliness of striverism is its inherent narcissism. Working endlessly on something meaningless in order to claim status over others is maladaptive. Worse it creates an arms race. No one should be upset over kids working day and night on habitat for humanity.
@steady_drumbeat One trembles to think of the eugenic effect of killing 80 year olds, soon we will all fall behind the red (maple leaf) curtain. I fear the Canadian ubermensch.
