@Jack49621870@Crussian17 If you get down to what they are really selling its basically international governments and big corporates paying huge $ amounts for custom software. They have like what 250 total customers? TAM is evolving but thats not a ton of opportunity
@RussoWasabi @OnodaCapital@BucknSF Product is great but totally agree. No reason it should have been at 40x sales given what it was. Still some room to fall imo
@ttunguz $BILL and $TWLO growth rates are elevated because of M&A right? Sorta hard to read through multiple comparisons on total growth rate. Gross margins and competition obv play a factor too. I still think ur point is valid tho. There could be a big shakeout in VC in 2-3 years
@jaminball@jrichlive This is the outyear model fallacy. You always model out year growth tapering to be conservative. When the market is big enough, sometimes it doesnt
@matt_slotnick Economies of scale? I feel like tibco is just a cash flow machine with tons of debt already. Maybe theyre trying to make another BMC or something
@absoluttig A lot of these acquisitions would be for smaller companies that wouldn’t move the needle and would cost $B’s of dollars. I’d imagine they’d mix big splashy $B deals for mature players with small <$500M tuck-ins of tech acquisitons for product extensions. Interesting read!
@BucknSF Chamath does it again. Wonder if they are seeing some take-rate compression too? Its a crazy world in privates - cant wait for it to rerate too
