Utahns know Utah best and know how to best manage OUR land. I also believe this move aligns with the Antiquities Act and its “smallest area” clause. A great win for Utah.

Why is it so controversial to believe Utahns should have a greater role in managing Utah's public lands? No one has a greater stake in preserving them than the people who call this state home. Those closest to the land understand it best. Thomas Jefferson believed that government closest to the people governs best, a principle that still resonates today. Why shouldn't Utah have a greater voice in the stewardship of its own public lands?
