@GRT_ROW I’ve noticed that Route 9 to UW, scheduled to arrive at stop 1136 for 6:56am is often 10 minutes late leaving Conestoga Mall, meaning that it’s usually 10 or more minutes late by the time it arrives. I wanted to find out if there had been a schedule adjustment?
@citywaterloo the trees and foliage along the sidewalk between 639 and 641 Albert are overgrown to the point that it is causing access problems. As this stretch of the sidewalk is next to the creek it appears that no one manages it. Do you know who’s responsible?
Given the many non-linearities present in the climate system, the remarkable linearity between global mean temperature and CO2 levels has always amazed me. It's seen both in models and in the real world
The latter arises in models because the ability of the ocean to take up CO2 is diminished with warming, as CO2 is less soluble in warmer oceans. There's a secondary impact as well from more acidic waters reducing the ability of calcite formation in calcite forming organisms
@statsigfig@TJSlipperman Online friendships can definitely be real and 100% valid! Parasocial ones are one way only - they aren't friendships, and can certainly happen in the content creation world - particularly for larger creators, but that doesn't invalidate the fact that online friendships do exist!
I want to say a HUGE thank you to co-authors @ClimoChris and @DrHeatherKropp for all their help in putting this together! I could not have done this without your guidance!
Our comprehensive analysis of reanalysis-based soil temperature performance in the Arctic was just published in the Cryosphere! It covers all the common reanalyses, including ERA5, ERA5-Land, MERRA2, CFSR, and JRA55, along with FLDAS!

Data Science folks - does anyone have experience performing 1D linear interpolation on a 3D XArray? If so, I might need your help!

@citywaterloo Thank you- this particular chair is located by the complex at 639-641 Albert Street, near Longwood Drive. There is a rather large collection of debris that has collected behind a set of electrical cables crossing over the stream
@citywaterloo it seems that the creek on Albert Street (that flows through Old Albert Park) has seen a lot of waste, and now even a series of chairs dumped into it.
I've attempted to report this before, but I never received a reply, so I'm reaching out here looking for guidance
@TheStrugglingS4 I've had to present right at the end of the day as well, in a poster session where 3_4 of folks used it as an excuse to leave early and get ready for the banquet
