At the time of this speech, the main takeaway from Dan Campbell was “I don’t care if you have one ass cheek and three toes, I will beat your ass.”
Looking back, there’s a much deeper meaning here. The coaches, the front office and the players all knew what he meant and they all bought in.
The culture of this Lions team was built off speeches just like this. Possibly built off this exact one.
“We’ll go a little longer. We’ll push a little harder. We’ll think a little deeper and little sharper.”
“Normally I’m 100% but I only need 85% to beat you.” (Think of Ragnow on that Vea block)
“…just gotta get a hold of them though. If you just get a hold of them and start dragging their ass out to the deep dark abyss…you can drown ‘em. And that’s what we have to be. That’s who we have to be. Because that’s our domain. Because we will tread water as long as it takes to fucking bury you. We’ll go as long as it takes because we can and we choose to.”
Everything Campbell said in this speech is the team the Lions have become. #AllGrit
Mike Leach on the college football playoffs in 2017:
"Let's get us a committee.
Why not?
Then,we will decide which 4 teams should go.
We don't need to solve this on the field.
Conference champions don't even necessarily make the playoff b/c the committee knew better."
Thoughts?

Predictable. There is no escaping the virus, it will be with us for the foreseeable future. The sport must move forward with those that are willing to live with the risks. Adapt, learn and soldier on. Enough of this defeatist approach. Let them Play!
Just another example of kids getting robbed of life experiences in the name of “health and safety”. What a joke. A handful of positive Omicron/Common Cold tests and the tournament is cancelled. Health and safety my ass…this is about Power & Control.
What a disgrace.
441 days ago I was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Today I rang the bell. The tumor is completely gone and I’m finished with chemo and radiation. Thank you to all the amazing nurses, doctors, family, friends, and strangers for helping me be strong during this year. #frickcancer

PARENTS:
I had a conversation with an NHL agent yesterday and asked him how many kids he’s seen legitimately make it that had really high maintenance parents.
His answer:
“If I had 200 kids, I’d probably say 2.”
Let that sink in.
KIDS: Check out this absolute dogged effort by Connor McDavid on the forecheck on this goal for EDM.
The best are the best for a reason. It's not just about the skill we love to watch on the highlights, but it's their relentless work ethic that sets them apart. Unreal clip.
Do those involved in youth hockey realize that development concepts in some sports are similar to others?
🏒 ⚽️
What a helpful illustration.
Other countries devp models are often similar to 🇨🇦 and 🇺🇸.
The big difference is they follow them!
