The Merlin app is a phenomenal tool for bird watching. I set my phone on audio record next to my window while in the shower this morning and returned to find eight birds IDed by song.

I’m starting to understand why birding is so popular: it’s like a never ending Easter egg hunt for adults, but in this case the eggs fly, you have to travel to find them, and there are thousands of variations.
