@OC_TranspoHelps Gates at walkley line 2 station are closed. Is the 2 down? Schedule changed? No signage and I don’t see information about this anywhere
I think it needs to be explained why the CP statement was perceived as hurtful by some ppl of the Jewish faith living in Ottawa. How did it cause harm? I'm confused by this.
And even if some Jewish ppl feel uncomfortable with the statement - so what? The statement was not antisemitic. It was not discriminatory. It was careful and thoughtful and based in human rights principles and law.
Liberation struggles aren't about making people feel comfortable.
I think the Jewish community in Ottawa and elsewhere in the West has had 75+ years of never having to reflect on what the State of Israel has meant for the liberation/oppression of Palestinians both in Palestine and here in the West.
Ppl of the Jewish faith and supporters of the State of Israel in its present form are now having to reckon with that. I'm sure it's uncomfortable as it's not a narrative that has ever been allowed to surface. But ppl of the Jewish faith are going to have start their own reckoning. In fact many already are. Jewish people against genocide in the West have been some of the most courageous voices and protestors on our streets. Challenging our institutions. I've drawn so much inspiration from them. Feel so
much solidarity.
I'm really sorry if some ppl don't feel like they can participate in Pride. But I do not believe that has much to do with a statement made by CP. And maybe that's just how it goes when a brutal genocide for 330 days is being waged. Maybe that's just what this big liberation struggle brings.
And I'd like to ask all city councillors and the Mayor: What is the City of Ottawa doing to ensure Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims feel safe and comfortable in the City. What did you do about the Israel flag raising event which was experienced by many of us as an affront. What actions against genocide have City councillors taken? What did City Councillors do when protestors were being ticketed for amplifying their voices when protesting war crimes? What protests have you attended? When has Ottawa City Council
suggested a solidarity statement with the people of Gaza like other cities across the world. How much attention has the City of Ottawa paid to the thousands and thousands of residents who are deeply traumatized and affected by the genocide? What care, healing, solidarity plans are in place for us?
@TSN_Sports it’s okay I didn’t really want to watch the best part of the race thus far… you’re absolutely doing my head in with these terribly timed ads
@OC_TranspoHelps to the driver of the 98 Hurdman (4615): we couldn’t see you with the glare, you stopped 20ft behind the barrier that says doing so is a $205 fine, and were asking a disabled person to walk onto the Transitway. Ease up next time please, you were too harsh
On Greenwood: based on the evidence in the public he should never kick a ball again.
However, every single one of the stakeholders United consulted should reveal how they voted and why they voted that way.
Transparency matters—would they stand by their vote if it was made public? If not, their motivations need to be questioned.
@ManUtd
You're not a racist or a hypocrite if you don't want Mason Greenwood to play for Man United again.
You just don't want a rapist to play for Man United again.
Manchester United also confirms Mason Greenwood included in retain list. 🚨🔴 #MUFC
No outcome yet on Man United internal investigation. He’s just under contract and so remains in list; but decision will follow later.
@wendyzuk The wiping your butt comparison was extremely effective 😬
I was hoping that would evolve into a discussion about the efficacy of water flossing; then the obvious parallel between wiping and bidet … eventually spurring the crossover @sciencevs episode we’ve all be waiting for
@tsn starting off the @F1 season in m consistent fashion … cutting away from the race at the worst possible time to show way too many ads. Please figure this out you’re ruining the viewing experience
@RiverWardRiley@hydroottawa@RiversideParkCR Will this also include Welland st? Often planned outages that list Southmore east and Thorndale affect Welland St despite it not being listed on Hydro Ottawa's site
Manchester United statement on Mason Greenwood 🔴 #MUFC
“Manchester United notes the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped. The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps”.
