Grant me the wisdom to avoid calculating the things that cannot be measured, beefy cluster for the things that can, and the chill when error bars aren't shown.

Raport ministerstwa, dane KRD i publikacje naukowe pokazują ten sam kierunek: zdrowie psychiczne doktorantów to realny problem systemowy.

I niestety znam to też z własnego doświadczenia.

[Tymon Kilich @TymonKilich]

[Tymon Kilich @TymonKilich]

@marcinnaps @niedakhPL A można teraz przyjść do szkoły doktorskiej bez konkretnego promotora?

[Tymon Kilich @TymonKilich]

@littmath Maybe @nasqret will be able to check? :)

[Tymon Kilich @TymonKilich]

[Tymon Kilich @TymonKilich]

@Michal_3141592 @PiotrStec2 @piotrsankowski Ale czy na pewno może (bez powodu)? „ All rights granted under this License are granted for the term of copyright on the Program, and are irrevocable provided the stated conditions are met. This License explicitly affirms your unlimited permission to run the unmodified Program.”

[Tymon Kilich @TymonKilich]

[Tymon Kilich @TymonKilich]

@nasqret Many thanks for the explanation! So since answering single question take this much time, it seems that this is indeed due to Pro/Ultra tiers as I wasn’t able to make, for example, (regular) Gemini Pro think for nowhere this long no matter how difficult was the question.

[Tymon Kilich @TymonKilich]

@ulkar_aghayeva @antonhowes More modern instrument, but “The Perfect Machine: Building the Palomar Telescope” by Ronald Florence is on my reading list and seems great from few quick glances I took.

🎆Ok, so here comes the big announcement: the Phase Space Invaders podcast is now online! So if you miss(-ed) the community spirit of #BPS2024, check out the first interview with the great @PilarCossio2 : https://t.co/sbTTXjdSdG

I'm starting PSI for the computational biology, chemistry, and biophysics community, with an aspiration to make it a marketplace of ideas to transform our discussions about computational science - think conference coffee break chats, just at scale. I'll be talking to PIs from the field about inspiring advances, upcoming revolutions, outdated models, common complaints, emerging practices, and many more. The goal is twofold: inspire the next generation of computational scientists, and bring wider attention to perspectives and issues within the community, all in a light-hearted way to accompany a commute or morning jog.

New interviews will be coming up weekly, so RTs and word-of-mouth shares are all very welcome! 🙏

And for anyone concerned, the quality (including that of my interviewing) will be hopefully steadily going upward, but feel absolutely free to leave suggestions - I'd love to hear back from the computational crowd 🤓

@oxinabox_frames Does symbolic differentiation still holds any advantages over AD in scientific computing? If yes what are they?
