@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident The law does not prohibit burial, but it must take place in a designated cemetery. Burying someone in your own garden is not allowed. This issue has become a hot topic on X, I guess because of the current anti-Muslim sentiment in society.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident ahh, I don't really know the Germans, but nowadays, there are many people deny WW2 crimes, what's more some embrace Japanese army conducts during WW2. NHK did a poll asking people "if you think it was a war of aggression. 35% said "Yes", 16% said "No", 48% said "No idea".
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident There is a politician named "へずまりゅう“. He is a youtuber who got arrested 3 times for multiple crimes. This guy now is a politician in Kyoto. He got votes purely because people enjoy his racist contents. Very interesting case.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident Quite a lot people support these parties but I wouldn’t say these politicians are the majority. However if you are racist politician you would get more votes. This is also why more and more politicians say stuff like this. Most politicians are educated and wouldn’t go this far.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident Yes this type of views apply for all social class. Once you are foreigner you are foreigner forever. This even apply to Japanese Americans or Japanese Brazilians.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident Nope I am not Korean descent, I grew up here tho. Personally I am quite shocked when I learnt how Koreans were treated in the old days. The discriminations were so severe that even the famous founder of SoftBank Mr.Son (Korean descent) said he was discriminated.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident These kinds of views are also common on TV. For example, the news often highlights crimes involving foreigners, giving people the impression that foreigners commit more crimes, even though the statistics don’t support that.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident When you make comments on "the foreigner issue" posts. it seems like reasonable to not provide welfare to foreigners in Japan. However, the existence of welfare benefits for "very limited numbers of foreigners, mainly Koreans" today stems from complex historical issues.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident Today, foreigners in Japan face similar rumors: "Foreigners are criminals" and "Foreigners stole our welfare." Most claims are easily disproven by official data, yet many still believe them—just as they believed the rumors during the Fukuda Village Incident over 100 years ago.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident "Fukuda Village Incident" is a famous case here where during Kanto Earthquake, the locals spread rumors about Koreans/Foreigners poisoned the water. later 9 people are murdered at Fukuda village and 231 Koreans murdered across the country.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident Japan doesn't really face the immigration issues, such as the refugee situation in the west. Crime involving foreigners is manageable, yet many locals want foreigner gone. Some politicians even campaign on slogans like "making Japan less comfortable for foreigners."
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident I guess you don’t know much about this issue. The amount starts from 500 usd depends on family situations. As I said 99% of the foreigners have no rights to receive it. There is no Indians receiving welfare in Japan. And Japanese have no problems with Indians.
@Ponti_Zero@cmentapresident Japan’s welfare system is very different from the West. 99% of foreigners are not eligible. The small minority who do receive it are generally covered for historical or humanitarian reasons.
Yet many people falsely believe that foreigners can easily claim welfare
