I am a former subscriber of Airtel Digital TV (Xstream DTH). I am writing not to seek personal relief, but to bring to the Authority's attention a systemic consumer-protection gap that remains unresolved years after subscribers first reported it –

(b) Provide subscribers an option to disable channel addition via remote entirely, restricting additions to the operator's app/website/SMS from the registered mobile number; (c) Waive charges and lock-in where a subscriber promptly reports an accidental or unauthorized addition.

4. Request to the Authority I request TRAI to examine this practice and consider directing DTH operators to: (a) Require explicit consent verification (set-top-box PIN or OTP to the registered mobile number) before activating any chargeable channel or service;
