What sucks is the 20.0.0 update should be mostly a positive thing overall. But Nintendo lied. Please @NintendoAmerica - add back the original feature of two people sharing one copy of a game playing online together.

@CentroLeaks This is actually insane… confirmed with my switch and a switch i was previously “sharing” with as my primary. Now in order to “link” our switches we have to physically be next to each other and then i guess i could take that virtual game card? But then its only playable on mine.

Nintendo's greed doesn't stop: They just silently killed game sharing

While they introduced it as a great new feature for everyone, instead it really was just a way to kill game sharing.

Before you were able to play a copy of a digital game on two Switches at the same time, using the main account on a secondary system and a secondary account on the main console, however this is no longer the case.
