The idea that disabled people must be constantly visibly suffering to “prove” we’re disabled is just the adult version of “if you’re too sick for school, you’re too sick for TV.”
if you isolate for long enough you start becoming more and more transparent until people can’t see you and objects phase right through your fingers and you can’t grab hold of anything ever again
At some point in mental illness you stop going “I’m so sorry it’s because of the depression/autism/adhd” and start going “I’m not well in the head. I do what I want. Stay out of my way” and this, ironically, will massively improve your day-to-day mental health
