but but, ricken hired thomas broich and ole-book! he clearly knows what he’s doing by extending with a coach that goes against everything they represent!!!
this is cope masquerading as rational thought but it does hit on something the “infantile bvb bubble” has been asking the management to address for years, which is the establishment of a top-down organizational identity/game idea. before all the reactionary moves (kovac/mislintat/kehl/ole-book) were made. the fundamental questions that should have been answered would have delivered an insulated structure that would have eased the burden on the coach. “what does bvb look like?”, “who is a bvb player?”, “what are the minimums and how do we raise them?”, “what does a perfect bvb match look like vs a smaller/ even/bigger opponent?”. etc
"Elversberg spielt mit einem Bruchteil des Budgets besseren Fußball als der BVB.“ 😤
Der Respekt für die Arbeit der SVE ist absolut verdient, aber der Vergleich blendet die völlig unterschiedlichen strukturellen Rahmenbedingungen aus. 🧵
in this current system inacio, albert, lerma, silva and hamzath will all be fighting for 2 positions on the chuks, jobe, nmecha and eichhorn will be fighting for 2. in an optimal setup this makes absolutely no sense
love how you elaborated your point and i agree. this all comes back to the fact that we have no central idea of how we want to play. a tactical identity is what grants you continuity regardless of the coach and setting a universal standard is what grants you the quality needed to play in your ideal way. for too long we have relied on each of the ten individual coaches that have been here over the past decade for this and simply refused to sit down and actually do some introspection on who we are, who we want to be, what we want, when we want it by, how we want to achieve it. and until we answer these questions we will be mired in a never-ending existential crisis
you have not done the work to define anything about what your organization stands for, what your ambitions are, what success means or what your standards are and you are constantly getting angry at your fans that are asking you to DO YOUR JOBS
@simon___13 and since they need to be mutually exclusive. “sporting success” cannot be gained without the development of in-house talent. you can only “win” in the short-term with that perspective, and short-termism should be our enemy
the most financially lucrative and sportingly sustainable long-term project consists of creating an environment where academy players can be developed into first team contributors

@Realityist having two of the best wingers of their generation in the country with no pathway to first team minutes only mean one thing….. we need one more!!
it feels so insane to log on every day to people being like “better things aren’t possible”. you MUST choose between attractive football and winning. you MUST choose between integrating academy, talents and winning. you MUST choose between being profitable and winning. and the funny thing is…. WE NEVER FUCKING WIN ANYTHING
i tried to tell yall that he only played them the way he did last season out of self preservation and lack of alternatives but people kept telling me he had a plan
it’s so hilarious that he was saying shit like “age doesn’t matter” and promising better football before his extension but after he signed the papers he just dropped all pretense LMAAAAAOOO

Niko Kovac:
„When the matches are a bit tighter, as a manager you tend to favour experienced players. Mathis wasn’t in the squad this time due to muscle problems. But it’s true that the youngsters are lagging behind at the moment. Samuele played in Norway. And I’ve taken responsibility for that. We were too young there – it’s the Champions League, but that doesn’t mean anything. There’ll be matches again where the youngsters are in the squad, and they’ll have to be a bit patient. That’s just the way it is – they need to keep proving themselves in training or in the youth teams.“
