Actual reasons more women don't play games competitively:
1. Discomfort caused by another - typically men
2. Gatekeeping
3. Harassment and abuse
4. Stigma
5. Availability of a computer at home

Absolutely not a factor:
1. They're not good at video games

@JessScharnagle This is coming from someone who was bullied and such for gaming since I was a kid, and I met some creeps asking for pics and being inappropriate etc.
Why would that stop anyone? Games are wonderful and such horrible people aren't worth your time.

@JessScharnagle While some of that is true, as a woman myself, I'd never stop playing games bc of a guy, or anyone. It's what I enjoy, it's my hobby, I just block anyone rude/toxic/sexist and move on. Don't ever stop your hobbies for anyone, life's too short to not do what you enjoy.
