Listen, I don’t agree with this. It’s kinda cool, yea, but it’s petty and silly.
That said, asking Google to politically defy executive orders is a slippery slope. The fact is, the president was elected by the people and has the authority to make name changes like this. It’s not Google’s job to decide which executive orders they agree with or whether they’re legitimate.
Because once Google starts playing judge on that, eventually they’re deciding what else they think is worthy of defying, and that could affect us far more than a stupid lake name change.
Find a candidate who can win. If someone thinks the name is important enough, they can change it back. Until then, being pissed about Google following the name change is just as silly as being pissed about the name being changed in the first place.
