Hmm I wonder why the families of 9/11 don’t want Mandami at the 25th anniversary memorial ceremony. Could it be for any of the following reasons?

He campaigned with Hassan Piker who said US deserved 9/11

He endorsed Claire Valdez who also said America deserved 9/11

He endorsed Darializa Avila Chevalier who founded a group at Columbia with a stated goal of overthrowing Western Civilization

He sympathized with the Boston Marathon bombers before the murdered bodies were even cold?

His dad has justified “suicide bombing” (like the ones in 9/11) as “first and foremost a category of soldier”.

Mandami has refused to condemn the phrase “Globalize the Intifada” which is exactly what 9/11 was

During his mayoral campaign he took a smiling picture with his arm around Iman Siraj Wahhaj who was accused of being one of the co-conspirators of the 1993 world trade center bombing

He has said he wanted to defund the police about a million times and demonized law enforcement

Yeah I wonder why the families don’t want him there. The bigger question is how the hell did we get here in the 1st place?

A 19-year old girl was chased on the street by a man with a hammer, the girl ran into a Jewish school in Queens for refuge, and an 8-year-old boy got injured in the chaos.

Repeat offenders are roaming our streets and driving fear into our communities. This man had 51 prior arrests, including one from Friday when he stole $1300 from Bergdorf Goodman and was released right away, the most recent in a series of thefts. He also has a mental health history and a gang history.

This is happening because Hochul, James, Bragg, and Mamdani refuse to lock away criminals. They are focused on protecting criminals instead of protecting New Yorkers. They support lenient charging policies and broken bail laws, allow retail theft to go unpunished throughout New York, and are working to shut down the gang database.

All of this is fixable. Criminals belong in jail. The mentally ill belong in residential treatment. This is not complicated. You just need someone who is going to get it done. I will.

Time for a new Attorney General.

The fact that this suspect had 50 prior arrests and was still out on the streets is a glaring sign that our laws need to change. Repeat offenders who continue committing crimes shouldn’t be cycling in and out of jail.

Why do we keep seeing violent crimes committed by people with long criminal records?

All politics aside, Mayor Mamdani should have the maturity to understand that this is not and should not be about him and respectfully step away from the 9/11 memorial services entirely.

He should recognize that regardless of how unfairly he thinks he’s being characterized, what’s actually important are the experiences of the 9/11 families and what this anniversary means to all Americans who lived through that day.

Whether he thinks it’s fair or not, the fact is that he has surrounded himself with people who’ve repeatedly made excuses and callous rationalizations for the 9/11 attacks, and has even chosen an attorney who made it his life’s work to represent terrorists — even Al Qaeda terrorists — as the chief counsel of New York.

Zohran may think these concerns are entirely unfair, or even Islamophobic. It doesn’t matter. He should be the bigger person here and recuse himself from the ceremony.
