During World War II, New York City was home to roughly 2 million Jews — the largest Jewish population of any city in the world at the time.
By contrast, the German-born and distinct German-American community in the same city was a small fraction of that size. Even at its historical peak decades earlier, New York’s German population never approached the scale of the Jewish community by the 1940s.
Nazi Germany was systematically murdering millions of Jews across Europe. American Jews knew it. They read the reports. Many had family being slaughtered.
Yet there are zero reports of organized Jewish mobs in New York attacking random German-Americans, burning German businesses, or assaulting people simply for being German or of German descent.
Jews did not turn their grief, rage, and trauma into collective violence against civilians who shared ethnicity with the perpetrators.
So when people claim that Muslims around the world are somehow justified in attacking Jews — or that antisemitic violence is an understandable “reaction” to Israel — remember this historical contrast.
If 2 million Jews in one city could live next to Germans during the actual Holocaust without launching pogroms against them, the idea that today’s global Muslim population “can’t help” attacking Jews over a conflict thousands of miles away is pure nonsense.
@ESoftturtle@ashandpod John is a hero and did nothing wrong, the fuck are you on. He killed a super soldier terrorist whose "surrender" meant shit.
Jean is just unhinged in the movie and faced no consequences for that.
@sequencerider@Duhlorean98 Peter had hurt one cop because his power went out of control, Jean on the other hand possessed people, actively murdered at least one and put a lot of people on harms way.
They aren't comparable in the slightest.
@MauLer93 Meaning he can deal with whatever shit Frank throws at him. He was even surprised that Peter even had issues with the traps he set up in his base.
Do you really think Frank is that heartless that he won't care if Peter died due to an action he took?
@MauLer93 Ah yes, because the punisher is the type of character to always openly show his caring about other people.
It was very clear they had history and that both of them really don't see eye to eye on how to do their job. It was also clear Frank thought Peter is very powerful. /?
@MOCHARTY@aradboaz You are stupid. You really think Israel arranged for this invasion to happen and not the fact Spain government has show how stupid they are which those people took advantage off.
@gogodaddy111@DeadW3ightz@KeiVollerei The entire point is that Miyabi is one of very few (quite possibly only her and the first user) that had immense skill and didn't need the sword to be so powerful or to sacrifice others for that.
@gogodaddy111@DeadW3ightz@KeiVollerei Miyabi is basically an insane level sword prodigy that didn't need tailless to do boost her power. That's one of the main reasons they decided to work with her and nothing against her.
@knickzrule@SamW2469@NotOkN1 Are you a moron or just pretending? This was a 2000 year artifact stated by the characters in universe who have zero reason to lie.
Korra was a hot headed moron in that scene.
This is fascinating!
What happens when two Arabs confront each other over what their grandparents did in 1948?
“My grandparents received the same memo yours did - the only difference is that they chose not to go out and murder Jews.”
When an Israeli Arab holds up a mirror to a Palestinian Arab, it doesn’t get more narrative-shattering than that.
@lord_agent@ZZZ_EN What.
Alice and Yuzhua were very involved in the patch they were introduced (backstory and general lore) and fought an extremely powerful enemy.
