Led by Associate Professor Maia Fraser from the Faculty of Science at the University of Ottawa and the Inter-Math-AI team, the event featured insights from Ilia Shumailov , former Senior Research Scientist at Google DeepMind and founder of an AI security company.

The conversation explored how mathematics continues to drive AI innovation, while highlighting the importance of stronger collaboration between academia and industry to advance research, talent, and real-world impact.

Mené par la professeure agrégée Maya Fraser de la Faculté des sciences de l’Université d’Ottawa et par l’équipe Inter-Math-AI, l’événement a notamment présenté les réflexions d’Ilia Shumailov, ancien chercheur scientifique principal chez Google DeepMind et fondateur d’une entreprise spécialisée en sécurité de l’IA.

Les discussions ont mis en lumière le rôle essentiel des mathématiques dans l’évolution de l’IA, tout en soulignant l’importance de renforcer les collaborations entre le milieu universitaire et l’industrie pour faire avancer la recherche, les talents et l’innovation concrète.
