- Rays weren’t even given a chance, Tigers didn’t care for their prospects

- Made the price for Milwaukee much higher than for the Dodgers

Another hindsight 20/20 tweet from me but it’s just hilarious, so they were going all in on Bichette back in January. They wanted him, they thought they had it done, and it would’ve left them with what the current situation is with their infield maneuvers.

They got played with Bichette and then there was no pivot to try to find what else was possibly out there. They just brought back JT and went on about their offseason with a run back just with a different one-year deal outfielder essentially.

You know who was still available after Bichette played them? Luis Arraez, who signed three weeks later for $12 million…

Nope, didn’t want to do that back in February, why would you, right? Let’s just play out the season that you obviously didn’t think you had enough in the lineup, because why would you be in serious talks to sign a bat for likely $30ish million AAV?

So now fast forward to the deadline. You have probably the worst lineup in the sport. Shocker. And what do you do to fix it? Let’s trade this 20 year old stud starting pitcher that has made a huge jump in development in the last calendar year and is on the hot list to be a top 100 prospect in a year for 6.5 weeks of Luis Arraez!

Genius. This is not a prospect huger tweet. Prospects will always break your heart. But it’s yet another example of why this front office fucking sucks. This one is worse, but it’s sort of like last year with Bader. You should’ve been signing a guy like Harrison Bader for years. He’s what they needed, and instead of just signing him, you have to trade Hendry Mendez who is tracking to be a boardline top 100 guy if he isn’t called up by the end of the year that you just had to move for 6.5 weeks of Bader.

It’s every trade deadline. Trading Lee for Lorenzen. Ben Brown for Robertson.

All of this shit adds up is what I’m saying. They lose in the margins on everything. Trades, signings, on the field, and with contracts. Been screaming about it from the mountain tops for years.
