Today I led a debate in Parliament to ban ALL MPs’ second jobs.
Nigel Farage didn’t show up to defend any of his - including the latest one, raking in £22,500 an hour to promote a gold dealer.
The gravy train must end. Watch the debate below.
With the coming change in leadership of our country and party, Labour now has to show it’s listened to ordinary people and learned from past mistakes.
This must start with an immediate departure from decisions that have failed our communities, replacing these with bold action to fight poverty, inequality and social division.

Three requests to Andy Burnham should he go on to become Prime Minister,
1️⃣ Don't be like Starmer, Cooper and Mahmood who have adopted authoritarianism such that terrorism is now defined as protesting elderly women holding up signs. Return integrity back to our Justice system who doesn't blur the lines between criminal behaviour and terrorism
2️⃣ Change the fiscal rules. Borrowing to invest in the country, especially our infrastructure, will help drive much needed growth. And don't be like Starmer cutting support to the poorer and the disabled. Better wealth taxes especially for the rich £10m+ is the rebalancing society needs
3️⃣ Don't waste time criticising the LibDems and the Greens, focus energies on the right and the far right: Reform, Restore and even some now in the Labour party for whom cruelty and injustice is increasingly becoming the norm.
We had 14 years of Conservative chaos, and now two years of Labour's divisiveness and austerity. The country did vote for change and sadly Labour under Starmer with poor policies and u-turns has been a disaster
And don't be like Starmer who said his greatest achievement as PM was to end the two child benefit cap, something he suspended 7 Labour MPs for
The countries deserve better
A tremendous victory in Makerfield for Andy Burnham.
This remarkable result is a world away from where Labour currently stands in the national polls.
It proves that Nigel Farage and the politics of division CAN be defeated at the next General Election.
But that will only happen if Labour changes course and reconnects with the communities it was founded to represent.
An important step toward shifting our public services away from profit to the public good.
Good to hear Chancellor @RachelReevesMP@darrenpjones and @chriswardmp make case for delivering public services for benefit of workers, tax-payers & service users rather than shareholders.
Nigel Farage - the leader of Reform UK - is STILL under investigation for failing to declare a £5 million 'gift'.
Please RT this until this until he no longer is.
Thank you
"Judge Johnson kept the jury in the dark of his plans to sentence the four as terrorists. This is the first time in British legal history that anyone has been sentenced as a terrorist for damaging property."
Please RT until this is both the 1st & last time.
Thank you.
We won sick pay, pregnancy protections and an end to no-fault evictions because workers and renters organised and demanded them. Now Reform UK's Great Repeal Bill pledges to scrap the Employment Rights Act, the Renters' Rights Act, and even the Equality Act that protects you from discrimination at work.
Scrapping your rights won't lower your bills or raise your pay. It just hands power to bad bosses and rogue landlords.
Workers across the country are putting posters up in their workplaces and telling Parliament: oppose the Great Repeal Bill.

We do not need to spend more money on bombs and bullets.
We need to spend more on housing, schools and our NHS instead.
A roof over your head. Enough food to feed your children. A public health service you can rely on in your time of need.
That is what real security means.
Why doesn’t Farage sit down with a low paid care worker, look them in the eye and tell them the truth.
He voted against a ban on zero hours contracts.
Against sick pay from Day 1.
Against protections from fire & rehire.
He’s not a friend of workers - he’s a political fraud.
